Maryland : Tourist Attractions
Maryland offers its visitors boundless opportunities ranging from adventure sports, to historical sites, monuments, parks and science centers. Some of the major tourist attractions of Maryland are:
* National Aquarium – Baltimore: Watch a live shark feeding itself over a continental breakfast in Baltimore’s National Aquarium. You can even dive beneath the surface or meet and touch the Aquarium’s dolphin or gray seal. The aquarium has more than 10,500 animals.
* USS Constellation - Baltimore The last all sail warship built by the US Navy is open to public as a museum in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. It arranges for special tours for kids “Powder Monkey Tours” to learn about young recruits who served as powder monkeys during the Civil War. When on board, you can also examine the purpose, design and construction of sailing warships.
* Maryland Science Center - Baltimore The Maryland Science Center is a private, non-profit organization that serves more than half a million visitors a year. It exhibits Dinosaurs, Planet Earth, and the Human Body, Outer space and Chesapeake Bay.
* Fort McHenry National Monument - Baltimore Of all the areas in the National Park System, Fort McHenry is the only one designated a National Monument and Historic Shrine.
